Meet Coach Salas

I began playing soccer at eight years old, between the ages of 8-15 I played for local and travel teams like Buenavista FC, Brooklyn Knights, and the Manhattan Kickers. I chose to take a break at the age of fifteen and decided to venture off into coaching. In 2013 I committed to Monroe College, and in my second season with Monroe, I turned into a National Champion, and soon after I received my second full ride to the University of South West in New Mexico.

After my time at the University of South West, I returned to New York City where I kept training teams. I held the position of head coach for the girl’s varsity team at the Trevor Day School. After the season I returned to New Mexico to develop more as a mentor. In 2018, I formally turned into the assistant coach for the women's program at The University of the Southwest where I had the opportunity to grow and learn. After a year with the program, I decided to return to New York City, and I took over a non-benefit club team, which holds a special place in my heart as my first team. It was a learning experience that promoted great growth within me because this was the beginning of my personal program Salas Training. My goal is to guide athletes to their very best, as individuals and teammates, and I want to push my players to achieve all their athletic goals.
